The Paralegal is responsible for providing paralegal assistance to the Head of legal on a variety of day-to-day matters related to litigation, corporate contracts, real estate and marketing. The Paralegal is directly responsible for (i) tracking litigation matters handled at the brand level, (ii) corporate contract management, (iii) maintaining media guideline standards globally, and (iv) providing support related to real estate transactions. This role works closely with other members of the Popeyes corporate and field teams and members of the RBI team.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated excellent PC skills including software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Legal Files, etc.)
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational and time-management skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
Ability to handle multiple assignments with attention to detail
Ability to travel 0-25%
Paralegal degree (certification) or five years corporate legal administrative experience required
Receive and track claims notices and prepare litigation hold notices for litigation matters handled by the Head of Legal, Popeyes.
Maintain the litigation report and the litigation log.
Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation matters.
Ensure no unintended or missed renewals of general corporate contracts.
Maintain the corporate contracts database, including drafting termination and renewal documents.
Coordinate with Popeyes field personnel and third parties to secure the return of corporate documents prior to the expiration of the current agreements.
Ensure no delay of required corporate services due to legal delay in reviewing and processing contracts.
Effectively and efficiently conduct research relating to corporate contracts and Popeyes real estate.
Prepare, implement and maintain Popeyes NA Media Guidelines.
Provide support on special projects as needed.
