Job Summary:

As part of the global Restaurant Brands International Corporate Communications Team, this position affords the opportunity to strategically and proactively engage key internal and external stakeholders through integrated communications and public relations initiatives that support a fast-growing global QSR organization with a unique culture. You are a dynamic self-starter, who works well independently with a passion for creatively telling our story and protecting our image through planning, execution and measurement across traditional and digital channels for RBI and its Brands (Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes). You are motivated by change, fast pace, issues management and working with leaders across all aspects of the business. As the organization and industry evolve, this position will have the ability to transition priorities, scope, breadth and areas of focus. All work performed in this role will be completed within all governing laws, regulations, internal policies and Codes as well as demonstrating the organization’s core values and attributes. Essential Responsibilities:


  • Join the Communications Team at our global headquarters in Oakville, building strong relationships with leaders across functions and with local media, public relations agencies and other key stakeholders

  • Lead end-to-end communications initiatives for a variety of internal and external audiences, ensuring key message delivery, audience engagement, positive brand affinity, leadership credibility, effective transitions (Change Management) and healthy information flow

  • Maintain and build current knowledge and standards of excellence in communications and public relations

  • Effective overall project, budget and supplier leadership


  • Develop, execute and measure effectiveness of communications and PR programs, including:

  • Develop dynamic yet simple written communications for both internal and external audiences

  • Develop engaging PowerPoint presentations and scripts for brand conventions, and coach on delivery methods and best practices

  • Develop strategic proactive and reactive media relations strategies for US market including audience analysis and coverage reports

  • Effectively manage media, social media and franchisee issues by preparing proactive and reactive statements and preparing spokespeople for interviews or statements

  • Support leaders in articulating and embedding brand story and voice both internally and externally

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Post-secondary degree/certificate/diploma in Public Relations/Communications or Journalism required

  • 4 to 5 years previous communication experience primarily in a corporate setting with proven ability to deliver results in: Communications Coaching/Advising, Purposeful Writing, Effective Listening, Media Relations, Issues Management, Crisis Management, Change Management, Stakeholder Management, Event Management

  • Experience with a multi-national organization an asset

  • A combination of corporate and agency experience an asset

  • Experience working in QSR as asset
